Russian 3D scanner manufacturer Thor3D released the latest version of its proprietary software called Calibry Nest. The solution works with the company's scanners, including the Thor3D Calibry. The v3.4 added many new useful features.
Some of the additions:
Stereomaker tracking. The new algorithm significantly improves the stereomaker tracking mode, making scanning easier, faster and more reliable. It’s an addition that is important to everybody who uses markers on a regular basis.
The Priority mode. This new brush allows the user to select important parts of the scan, which ensures highest possible accuracy of such parts during scanning. It’s important for all users.
Improved accuracy and software speed. Key algorithm optimizations allowed for improved efficiency of Calibry Nest. The examples of improved algorithms include global register and texturing. Things that used to take several minutes are now done in mere seconds. Important for all users.
Magic brush. This brush makes it possible to edit a texture of a 3D model without exporting into image editing software. It’s great for marker removal, as well as removing skin’s imperfections if needed. Important for the users that use color and texture capturing.
Welcome screen. This popup screen appears on launch and allows users to quickly navigate their projects and read the latest news by Thor3D. It is also useful for new users, since they will be offered a tutorial.
The Bridge function. This is a new more accurate way to fill the holes. Important for all users.
Undo/Redo for selection tools. Pretty much self-explanatory: allows to redo the last action during selection instead of starting all over again. Important for all users.
More straightforward post-processing. An added capability to set up hotkeys for most often used functions. Another addition is the prompts for different tools for new users. Important for all users.
3D mouse support. Self-explanatory. Important for 3D mouse users.
Sound notifications. Added a sound notification for finishing the functions of post-processing. Important for the users with big datasets.
