1) Не все машины лицензировались под все регионы
2) Но что скорее всего раньше, не знаю как сейчас, сохранял бренды при покупке того или иного производителя. Например Opel во всем мире Opel, но в британии - Vauxhall.

Так что тут скорее всего второе

Кстати, 1023х1024 тоже фигово работает.
