That is great that Amazon isn't covering accidents anymore. The prices go up for everyone when a company covers the cost of a persons clumsiness.
Is that a joke?
No
My kindle 3 screen broke 6 month out of warranty. I called Amazon, they offered me $10 discount if I sent back the old kindle. That is the best they can do.
I have been happy with Amazon, but not any more, for them selling such defective products. If other electronics were like this, I would have gone through a lot of pc, refrigerator, tv etc.
Same as with me. My out of warranty Kindle has damage to the screen. I was expecting to be quoted a price for repairing the screen as opposed to the «opportunity» to buy a new one with a $10 discount. This is a really bad way to reward a loyal customer.
Hello!
We are attempting to return a kindle device — further details are in the support chat history, which you have access to.
We have encountered problems with the UPS post returning our broken kindle.
We went to the UPS office with printed codes you've provided and they've told us that we have to spend about a week to prepare the set of documents for the customs service and that we should spend about two days at the customs office personally to get some documents for the kindle.
Moreover, they've told us that there were some incidents exactly with the kindle devices returns, when they weren't allowed to leave the country by the customs.
We don't have any complaints about the UPS — they do their job fine. It's our (Russian) idiotic bureaucracy and the customs service, which make it nearly impossible to send a device abroad without tons of headache.
Also, collecting all the documents will cost us more money than a kindle itself, making the whole thing absolutely pointless.
We just wanted to put it across to you that we are unable to return it and you can simply charge the money off the credit card.
