Демократичной — может быть. Но рекомендую почитать их Конституцию (которую, согласно Википедии, хотели пересмотреть в 2013, и так и не понятно, что из этого вышло, на официальном сайте www.government.is/constitution/ — старая). Много чего можно накопать, например

Большинство «демократий» это завуалированные олигархии.
Начиная с Афин, Рима, Венеция, Англия, Голландия. Да и наш родной Новгород.
Почему США должны отличаться. Я согласен, что подлинная демократия возможна в крохотных странах типа Исландии, но и то до тех пор пока на них не обратили внимание крупные игроки.
