“This is not even a hypercar — it’s an ultracar,” — this is how race car driver Spyros Panopoulos prefers to call his brainchild, whose company is going to present the most powerful production car in the world, stuffed with 3D printed parts and ready to put to shame Formula 1’s SSC Tuatara and Bugatti Chiron.

The Chaos was to have been shown at the Geneva Motor Show, but the exhibition was canceled due to the pandemic. Yet, the car will soon make its debut with the support of Top Gear, which will make a separate episode for this occasion, and Red Bull, organizing an event at the Nürburgring race track.

For Chaos, the company creates two different 4.0-liter V10 turbo gasoline engines with a capacity of 2048.7 and 3064.7 horsepower. The more powerful version will sport 12,000 rpm and acceleration to 100 km/h in just a couple of seconds, and up to 400 km/h in eight.

The two thousand horsepower version will feature up to 11,000 revolutions per minute and a ratio of 2:1 instead of 3:1 in horsepower per kilogram of the car mass. Both options will theoretically have the maximum speed of over 500 km/h, the acceleration rate being about 4g and 4.8g.

If everything works out, Chaos should set a new speed record among production cars. Judging by the information provided, work on the power units has not yet been completed, and the first races will take place only next year. Still, you are welcome to admire the appearance of the car right now.

The engine design uses numerous 3D printed parts made from titanium alloys, steel, and ceramics. This includes pistons, connecting rods, and even a crankshaft made with H13 tool steel. The tailpipes are printed in titanium and chrome-cobalt alloys (Inconel). The body and other parts, such as the steering wheel, rims, and brake calipers, are made up of 3D printed titanium and magnesium components, carbon fiber-reinforced plastic, and poly(benzoxazole)s — a high-strength polymer under the Zylon brand that is one and a half times stronger than Kevlar. Such large parts can be successfully printed on professional, industrial-grade equipment that features a huge build volume — for example, the Modix Big-180x 3D printer.

The company plans to produce only about a hundred of these vehicles — two dozen for each continent. For some reason, the manufacturer decided to exclude Antarctica, although with such a clearance, there are not so many suitable roads in the whole world. The price for the Chaos is €5,500,000 for the basic version and €12,500,000 for the 3000-horsepower option.
