The only issue with the approach described in the article is that you need a payment option (e. g. credit card) tied to the country you are checking price for. Because when you will login for EU, find your cheap price and then try to pay with US credit card you will get an error or US price. Steam even allows you to switch country in the cart and shows you different prices — you'll just have to pay with appropriate credit card.
