This is an amazing guide for setting up a VPN server, but I want to know that is our own VPN server, Will be as secure as the other paid VPN servers are, and can we access the content of that server region, like we did with a VPN service for example if I am using a Indonesian VPN Server of PureVPN so I can access the content of Indonesia and will get the Indonesian Ip address, So if I setup my own server with indonesian IP, Will it work in the same way?
For personal use, it’s secure enough, I think. However, I wouldn’t recommend running Outline for hundreds of users, unless you know how to secure the service further.
Speaking of content restrictions, in my tests I was able to watch region-specific Netflix titles just fine. It seems like you could access Indonesian content as well.
I am sure this tutorial is underestimated. It helped me to quickly install the server 11 months ago and after some additional tweaks from https://techexpert.tips/ubuntu/block-bittorrent-linux/ and https://askubuntu.com/questions/84781/iptables-resets-when-server-reboots, it works flawlessly!
Thanks a lot!
