Как мне видится, за этим будущее… Еще не скоро появятся искуственые конечности, сравнимые с человеческими. Плюс «как бы» свои естественные руки лучше протезов.
Черт его знает. С одной стороны вроде лучше, а с другой: всю жизнь на имуносупрессорах иначе отторжение, и неизвестно насколько функциональность восстановится. А по протезам во какой прогресс за последние годы, все вспоминаю ступни Хью Хэрра.
В любом случае именно этот мальчик с четырёх лет пьёт эти препараты.

Вроде за полгода все клетки организма полностью обновляются (заменяются новыми). Впрочем, не уверен, касается ли это донорского органа на фоне целенаправленного подавления иммунитета.

И как часто ему придётся переносить такую тяжелую операцию вплоть до 18-22 лет, когда организм перестаёт расти?
(задумчиво) Вот он, собственно — передний край трансплантологии. Именно здесь: пересадка кистей рук как большое достижение этой науки. И именно поэтому — я совершенно не верю в идеи пересадки головы!

Трансплантология — хорошо. Но лучше еще активнее двигать регенеративку. И железо. Кстати, в его восприятии с недавних пор наметился тренд — люди намеренно просят не имитировать «натуру», а сделать подчеркнутый «киборг-дизайн».
