The Industrial Pack offers an automatic turntable, as well as a tripod for more stability during fixed scans, as well as allowing users to work with even smaller objects.

An example of a Guangong scan.

The default sizes of the objects that can be scanned is between 30 and 100 cm. When using the Industrial Pack add-on, the range is increased: you can also scan objects between 3 and 30 cm.

An example of a seashell scan.

The EinScan Pro 2X 2020 was made with scanning small objects and fine features in mind, as well as high-definition face scanning. But the device is quite versatile, especially considering its expandability, so it can be utilized for various use cases in different industries and fields, from art design to manufacturing and reverse engineering. It can be used for educational purposes and in healthcare.

Limitations:

The following surfaces will be hard to scan:

  • Transparent objects like glass

  • Shining or reflective objects like varnished metal parts

  • Dark color object like black keyboard

  • Fuzzy objects like hair

Solution: To scan such objects, the user would need to spray white powder on objects.

In addition, the device was designed to work with smaller objects (up to 100 cm) and will find it hard to scan objects smaller than 3 cm.

Shining 3D EinScan Pro HD

In contrast to the Einscan Pro 2X, the EinScan Pro HD is targeted at objects between 3 cm and 300 cm, substantially expanding its potential field of application.

It is an upgraded version of the EinScan Pro (Read this article to learn more about the introduced upgrades).

The machine offers incredible scanning speed and high-resolution results.

Featuring four different scan modes (two handheld ones: Rapid and HD; two fixed ones: with and without turntable), the EinScan Pro HD is very versatile.

An example of a little sculpture scan:

The Handheld HD mode is designed for scanning with an incredible level of accuracy. The handheld Rapid scan mode is perfect for quick scanning experience and working with objects with intricate geometries. Two fixed modes provide even more accurate results. Similar to the Einscan Pro 2X 2020, the device is also upgradeable with Color Pack and Industrial Pack add-ons that expand its functionality.

An example of a wood carving board scan:

The scanner is significantly better at scanning complex, dark, and casting metal surfaces than its predecessors, thanks to improved algorithms and a better projector.

An example of a metal part scan.

The device is lightweight and portable, it’s perfectly useful in handheld modes and can be easily transported. Its weight is just 1.13 kg (with the USB cable)

Below is an example of a 3D model of a human face scanned using The EinScan Pro HD:

Versatility and upgradeability, along with four different scanning modes make the device a great solution for the tasks presented by various industries. The EinScan Pro HD can be used for human face scan, reverse engineering, in arts and for artifact restoration. The scanner can be used in the educational field, healthcare industry and AR/VR development.

Limitations:

The same limitations listed for the Einscan Pro2X 2020 apply.

However, in contrast to the Einscan Pro2X 2020, the device can scan objects as large as 300 cm.

Shining 3D EinScan H

The EinScan H is a multipurpose handheld professional color 3D scanner targeted at objects between 30 and 300 cm. Thanks to its larger field of view, the scanner has a much easier time scanning large objects than the Einscan Pro series (780 x 900 mm for the Einscan H vs. 310 x 240 mm for the Einscan Pro HD).

An example of a sofa scan:

Utilizing a hybrid light source that uses both Hybrid Led and Infrared lights. The latter is invisible which is very useful. As an example, it provides no discomfort for the eyes of a model during the scanning process in the Face Scan Mode.

The device provides high-res scans and boasts large scan volume and fast speed. Improved algorithms make the results more accurate and allow the EinScan H to capture darked color objects.

Specifications

  • Technology: Hybrid (Infrared & Structured light)

  • Light source: Led and Infrared

  • Accuracy: up to 0.05 mm

  • Scan speed: up to 1,200,000 points per second

  • Depth of field: 200-700mm; 200-1500mm

  • Point distance: 0.25 mm - 3mm

  • Safety: eye-safe

  • Maximum scan volume: 780 mm x 900 mm

An example scan (note the hair capture, the Einscan Pro series would have a harder time capturing hair since they don’t have the infrared light mode):

There are three modes available: Standard, Body, and Face Scan modes. Full-color capture and improved texture tracking are also impressive features. The device is designed with portability in mind: it’s very compact, weighing just 703g, which makes it easy to transport and comfortable for handheld operation.

Here’s an example of an oil painting scan done by the EinScan H:

The EinScan H can be used for various purposes. It can be a great choice for 3D scanning for architecture, art, AR/VR modeling, artifact restoration, healthcare and education. The device is also extremely useful for full-body and partial human scans, offering two dedicated Body and Face scan modes, designed from the ground up for such purposes.

Limitations:

The same limitations listed for the Einscan Pro2X 2020 apply.

However, in contrast to the Einscan Pro2X 2020, the device can scan objects as large as 300 cm (and even larger objects), but cannot scan objects smaller than 30 cm (due its large field of view). In addition, the scan accuracy and resolution will be insufficient for most reverse-engineering projects, so it’s best to think about it as a tool for visualization projects.

Finally, the infrared mode offers a huge advantage when scanning dark and fuzzy objects such as hair, making this device a great tool for medical fields and human scanning projects.

Shining 3D EinScan HX

The EinScan HX is an industrial-grade full-color handheld 3D scanner targeted at objects between 30 and 300 cm (although we used it to scan objects as small as a 2 cm ring, see here). It uses a hybrid system of combining two light sources: laser and structured light. The laser system is designed to be used for highly accurate scans and can capture dark colored objects and reflective surfaces, while the structured light is utilized in the Rapid scan mode, offering  simple and quick results.

Being the most affordable handheld laser 3D scanning system currently available on the market, the Einscan HX has seen great commercial and engineering success.

Specifications

  • Technology: Hybrid (Infrared & Structured light)

  • Light source: Blue LED and laser

  • Accuracy: up to 0.04 mm

  • Scan speed: Up to 1,200,000 points/s 20FPS (LED scan mode); up to 480,000 points/s 55FPS (Laser scan mode)

  • Depth of field: 200-700 mm (LED scan mode); 350-610 mm (Laser scan mode)

  • Safety: eye-safe

  • Maximum scan volume: 420 x 440 mm (LED scan mode); 380mm x 400mm (Laser scan mode)

Below is an example of the scan of a wheel done using the EinScan HX.

Below is an example of the scan of a car fender done using the EinScan HX.

Below is an example of the scan of a car door done using the EinScan HX.

Below is an example of the scan of a compressor using the Einscan HX.

Using two modes and providing an impressive level of accuracy, the EinScan HX can be used in different fields:automotive industry, manufacturing and reverse engineering. Arts and restoration, AR/VR, healthcare, human scans (both full-body and partial ones) are also fields where it can be used.

Limitations:

In contrast to the Einscan Pro series and the Einscan H, the Einscan HX copes well with shining and reflective objects like varnished metal parts and dark colored objects. It will still have difficulties scanning transparent objects like glass (one would need to apply scanning spray) and fuzzy objects like hair.

However, its large field of view sets limits on the object sizes it’s capable of scanning. The recommended object size range is between 30 and 300 cm.

In addition, it is worth noting that the scan data generated in the Laser Scanning mode cannot be combined with the data generated in the Rapid Scan Mode. For example, one cannot apply textures from the Rapid Scan Mode to the laser scan data.
