The Polish company Sinterit known for budget-friendly Lisa SLS 3D-printers released a new additive system using selective laser sintering technology — the industrial-grade yet fairly affordable NILS 480.

The new device features an enlarged print area and is much more convenient to use thanks to the automation of some processes.

“We used our experience from over 1000 compact systems sold worldwide and decided to reinvent the industrial-grade printer, changing the market once again. Starting with the compact line raised the bar for us very high. Our goal was always to provide the highest selective laser sintering quality, but also to make this technology widely available, so with a reachable price in mind. NILS 480 draws from this experience,” says Maxime Polesello, CEO of Sinterit.

The build volume of the 150 kg system is 200 x 200 x 330 mm versus 150 x 200 x 150 mm in the Lisa and 150 x 200 x 260 mm in the Lisa Pro. The operating cycle with the maximum use of the useful volume will take no more than 30 hours. Users will be able to manually adjust over 50 parameters to work with different materials, including those by third-party manufacturers. The proprietary consumables include polyamide-11 and polyamide-12, an antistatic version of polyamide-11, three options of thermoplastic polyurethane (Flexa Bright, Flexa Soft, and Flexa Grey), thermoplastic elastomer, and polypropylene.
