Мне одному этот код глаз резанул?

if (this.readyState == 4 && this.status == 200 && this.responseText != null) {
  document.getElementById("sw_an_data").innerHTML = this.responseText;
}

Полный эквивалент и не режет глаз.

Ещё можно было б использвать уж fetch.
