Instead of desktop 3D printers, such as Raise3D E2, today we will talk about a metal 3D printer. Chinese company Farsoon offers the FS273M additive manufacturing system that works with laser powders. It’s a modernized version of the FS271M LPBF (Laser Powder Bed Fusion) 3D printer that is offered with one or two lasers.

The base version of the FS273M is offered with one 500W laser but there’s a two-laser version available that utilizes improved calibration and positioning algorithms. The user interface, powder feeding system were also improved. The new filtration system allows for longer operation and efficient filter usage.
The laser spot size is 80 micron when making contours and can be sized up to 200 micron when filling. The system is compatible with finely dispersed 316L stainless steel powder, maraging steel 300, aluminum alloys AlSi10Mg, AlSi7Mg и AlMgScZr, titanium alloy Ti6Al4V, Inconel 718 (heat-resistant nickel-chrome alloy, H13 tool steel, pure copper, tantalum and other metals and alloys.
