Massivit 1500 Exploration 3D Printer: Highlights and Applications

The Israeli company Massivit offers a slightly less "massive" version of its flagship 3D printer that builds products from photopolymer gels. Although the specs of the machine are more modest, its print volume reaches two and a half cubic meters.

Unlike the Massivit 1800, the device uses only one head instead of two, and the dimensions of the build volume was changed from 1450 x 1110 x 1800 to 1470 x 1160 x 1370 mm. 3D printing is performed using a liquid gel nozzle and LED ultraviolet emitters that cure the applied photopolymer. This highly productive technology is called Gel Dispensing Printing. In the case of the Massivit 1500, the print speed of a cylinder with a diameter of one meter reaches 30 cm/h in the Z axis. The size of the buckets for loading the material has remained the same.

Such large-format machines are primarily intended for making promotional items and thermoforming molds. An interesting example printed with the device is the 3.5-meter-tall skeleton statue made by the Mexican 3D printing firm Moti Digital for the Guadalajara Light Festival (pictured above).
