The Additive Technologies Center (ATC) of the Rostec State Corporation received a license from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation for the serial production of parts using additive technologies.

According to the press service of Rostec, the license allows the serial production and testing of components for civil airliners, helicopters, and engines, Rostec being the first Russian company to confirm its competence in mass industrial 3D printing for aviation.

“Aircraft building is one of the most knowledge-intensive industries with increased safety requirements. The license confirms compliance with these requirements and allows the production of products in series. This is a new important stage in the development of additive technologies and the Russian aircraft industry," commented Director General of JSC ATC Vladislav Kochkurov.

Industrial 3D printing can significantly reduce the production time of individual components and obtain products with a lower weight while maintaining functional properties and improving aircraft characteristics, such as payload.

The Additive Technologies Center of Rostec has already mastered the production of 450 types of parts, having the largest fleet of 3D printing equipment in Russia — 41 units of additive and auxiliary hardware. It is worth noting that with the help of solutions such as the Scantech KSCAN Magic, manufactured products can be analyzed for compliance with the original 3D model before and after use.
